2010 will mark 95 years of service for Maynard at the Ohio State Fair. Join us for the service of good food and fellowship.

July 19: Setup - 9 a.m. at church to load truck, 9:30 a.m. at fairgrounds for unloading and setup
July 19 - 27: Set up
July 28: Opening day - tent is open 24/7
August 8: Closing day
August 9: Teardown begins
Simply Living Courses
Simply Living is organizing study groups using material from the Earth Institute. This Tuesday, July 6, at 7:30 p.m., there will be a forum in their new office (3rd level) where you can hear from former participants about each of these courses. No need to register, just walk up the stairs. Starts with a 15 minute film entitled The Story of Having Stuff.
•Sustainable Systems at Work: A five-session discussion course for the workplace, designed to further organizational sustainability initiatives.
•Global Warming - Changing Course: A four-session course exploring the history and science of global warming, personal values and habits as they relate to climate change, and personal actions to curb the effects of global warming.
•Choices for Sustainable Living: A seven-session course exploring the meaning of sustainable living and the ties between lifestyle choices and their impact on ecological systems.
•Menu For the Future: A six-session course exploring the connection between food and sustainability.
•Voluntary Simplicity: A five-session course addressing the distractions of modern society that keep us from caring for ourselves, our relationships, and the environment.
•Healthy Children - Healthy Planet: A seven-session course that discusses how the pervasive effects of advertising, media, and our consumer culture can influence a child's view of the world.
•Discovering a Sense of Place: A seven-session course focusing on knowing and protecting our place.
•Reconnecting with Earth: A six-session course addressing core values and how they affect the way we view and treat the earth.
New Life UMC 8th Annual Season Kick-Off Tailgate Party
New Life United Methodist Church will host the Eighth Annual Season Kick-Off Tailgate Party on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. (Tuesday night before the season opener on Thursday evening with Marshall) at Villa Milano Banquet and Conference Center (1620 Schrock Road).
The Keynote Speaker will be Craig Krenzel, Quarterback of the 2002 National Champion OSU BUCKEYES.
The Emcee for the evening will be Mindy Drayer, NBC4 Weekend Morning News Anchor.
The evening’s menu will include a Tailgate Buffet with Brats, Burgers, Salads, Baked Beans, Chips and Dessert.
There will be a huge Silent Auction, with lots of items at various price levels.
The Minimum Donation is $30 per adult and $15 per child 5-16 (Free under 5).

•Touchdown Sponsor for $800.00 which includes, a reserved table for 8, company name on the table, in the published program and mentioned during the program.
•Field Goal Sponsor for $600.00 which includes a reserved table for 8, company name on the table and in the published program.
•Extra Point Sponsor for $400.00 which includes a reserved table for 8, company name on the table.
•Good Sport Sponsor for $30.00 which provides a ticket to be used by a New Life neighbor who needs help to be able to afford to attend the event.
